Oct 2010 Dear Robert T. Kiyosaki: I was able to get your book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, at a used book store. I think there are some good things in there that I may be able to put to good use. But there's also a very serious mistake when you said, "We've been taught the love of money is the root of all evil." The implication is that we've been taught wrong that the love of money is the root of all evil. No, we haven't been taught wrong that the love of money is the root of all evil because God says, in his book, the Holy Bible, "The love of money is the root of all evil." For best results, sir, don't go contradicting God. He's stronger than you, smarter than you, more knowledgable than you, richer than you, and if you choose to be his enemy, then you'll be like one of those rich men you told about toward the beginning of one of the chapters who all came to disgraceful ends. The greatest teacher who ever walked the face of the earth is the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, whom God raised from the dead on the third day. Jesus said, "What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul, or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul." The richest man on earth can't buy his way into heaven, and everyone who misses heaven winds up in hell, where there's weeping and gnashing of teeth, where their worms don't die and the fire is never quenched. And most people go to hell, Jesus said. Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews came to Jesus at night. (John chapt. 3) Jesus explained to him, "You must be born again." You get born again after hearing the gospel message that Jesus is the virgin-born Son of God who died for our sins, whom God raised from the dead. You must confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord & believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. (Romans 10:9,10) The most important thing for everyone to do during their lives on earth is to become born-again Christians. That doesn't mean you can't still be a real estate and stock market investor. It doesn't mean you can't still be wealthy. But it means you're on the road to heaven rather than on the road to hell. You are probably aware that one of the Ten Commandments (Exodus chapt 20) is "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain." But in the Psalms it says, His word is above his name. So if it's wrong to blaspheme God, then it's also wrong to speak against his word, as you seem to have done regarding, "The love of money is the root of all evil." I could give you more scripture references if I had a concordance, but at the moment I don't have one at hand. But if you want to look up some of these scriptures in the King James Bible, I recommend the Strong's Unabridged Concordance. I've seen them at a good price at Border's Books. A recent edition is called, "The Strongest Strongs." Remember how you said, "Read a book." Read this book: The King James Bible. You say that you buy audio tapes. So do I. I'll bet you have some good tapes. I'll bet mine are better, because I have the whole Bible on audio tapes, read by Alexander Scourby. Got them at the Lighthouse Christain Book Store, Pasadena, CA. On Lake St, I think, about a block from the Gold Line light rail train. They may still have the phone number, 1 (800) JOHN 316. But instead of audio tapes, you can also get it on CD's, which are sturdier. Fred Hoehn P.O. Box 781 Omaha, NE 68101
