10/31/10 Gary: You probably remember me. We met on the Greyhound bus on the way to Houston, but you were continuing on to New Orleans, I think. You were concerned that I would get kicked out of the Houston Greyhound station. I said, "I won't get kicked out; I've done this before." I didn't get kicked out, and one reason I didn't get kicked out was my confession to you that I wouldn't get kicked out. We are made in the image of God--the God who spoke the worlds into existence. So we also have some power to speak things into existence. Charles Capps is a good teacher on this subject. He's on the internet. You can Google him. Or, you could write to Charles Capps, P.O. Box 69, England, AR 72046. Get his book, "God's creative power will work for you." I'm typing this letter on my Compaq Presario laptop computer. Compaq, of course, is owned by Hewlett Packard. Don't really care too much for the Windows 7 operating system, but it's not to easy to buy a new computer without Windows 7. Thanks for your suggestion to get a laptop rather than a desktop. I was opposed to the idea at the time you and I discussed it. For one thing, I didn't care too much for the idea of taking a valuable laptop around to various places in whatever city I might be living in. Also, I knew that desktop computers are cheaper than laptops. Where a big advantage comes is if one is moving to a different city. You can take your laptop along to the new city. But desktops are significantly more inconvenient, especially if you're moving by Greyhound or other public transportation. But recently, prices have come down to where I was able to get a good price on a laptop at Walmart. But my first one didn't work out so well. It had two major crashes in less than a week. I prayed about it, and it seemed the Lord's will was to return it for a refund, which I did. Now I have a second laptop, and it's working out better. One thing is I'm avoiding deleting software I don't plan to use. Even though you're not going to use that software, maybe Microsoft has a way of tying it into the system such that your system doesn't work as well without it. Also I've gone in and slowed the clock speed a little, or I think I have. I'm doing things a little differently this second time. Didn't really care much for the touch pad as pointing device, but now I have a Logitech external wireless mouse, which is so much better than the touch pad. With previous computers (desktops) I had saved on disk and flash drive various files, including promises/confessions from the scriptures. I'm now working to separate them into categories to be used in my daily confessions of who I am and what I have in Christ. A pretty good Bible Teacher is Norvel Hayes (also on the internet). I remember hearing him say, "You've got to say every day, 'I will never die from cancer.' " As the young man that you are, that might seem a silly thing to do. But as you get older, there is the possibility of some health problems. I believe with Hayes that christians could avoid a lot of health problems by quoting appropriate scriptures on the subject. I happened to see Norvel Hayes on Direct TV, the GTV channel ("God TV"). He was on at 5 p.m., Mountain Time. It was probably a weekday, not weekend. He said he had a student. She didn't like his teaching too much at first. "Too strong," she said. She had legs that didn't work right. She could walk with the help of crutches. He told her to command her legs to be normal every day. So she started doing that every day, and sometimes more than once each day. After about six months, she went to the shopping mall with her friends. She was walking along with her crutches and felt the power of God come on her. She threw down her crutches, and walked off with normal legs. That's what Hayes said. I believe it. Thank God. But I've probably learned more from Kenneth E. Hagin than from any other teacher or preacher or pastor. His books are available at www.Rhema.org, or you could write Kenneth Hagin Ministries, P.O.Box 50126, Tulsa, OK 74150. Don't think I mentioned this to you, but I believe the Lord has told me that my seed would be as the sand of the sea, but I don't think he meant the natural descendants like children, grandchildren, etc., but rather spiritual children--souls I'd convert to the Lord. Hope things are going well for you. Thanks for the gift you gave me. The Lord bless you.
