09/05/10 Dear Charles Krauthamer: I happened to catch Inside Washington this weekend. It seems like about every time I hear your comments, over the years, you've had rather good things to say. I've seen you on some talk shows in a wheelchair. Glad to see that you are no longer using one. As the financially successful person you seem to be, no doubt you are in a position to afford rather good medical care. There was some discussion today on the program (IW) where Colby referred to his going to church. You made the comment about his going back in a week to work on his sins. No sir, I don't think you understand why Christians go to church each Sunday. As the Christian that Colby seems to be, his sins are already forgiven. It is very unlikely that from one Sunday to the next he would do something that would result in his losing his salvation, and the going to heaven after this life. (The other place to go, of course, and Jesus said most people wind up there, is a fiery hell.) Everyone goes either to heaven or hell. No, Christians go to church each week to help them remain strong Christians, and for what they can learn from the pastor, and because we are told, "Don't forsake the assembling of yourselves together," in the New Testament part of the Holy Bible. I've been very fortunate to have received good Bible teaching since I was a small boy until now, my senior years. Although you're not using a wheelchair, you still have somewhat of a speech impediment. I see that you are coping with it, but your coping doesn't remove the problem. Several years ago I had a job where the boss, Dan, had a similar speech impediment. His way of coping was to speak a certain phrase of two or three words that would help him to get started talking. That phrase didn't necessarily have anything to do with the sentence that followed, but it was a way of coping that he had. Most probably, Dan still uses that device. You probably have spoken to experts in this field and have heard some strategies, but it rather seems that no one could quite put his finger on the exact nature of the problem. I am glad to be able to tell you that I understand the problem and would be happy to share with you the solution. Whether or not you take the cure will be your decision, but it's not something very difficult, nor expensive, nor painful. We know that there was a plot to kill Jesus when he was on earth. The plotters eventually were successful in getting a death sentence against him from the Roman Governor, Pontius Pilate. Jesus also knew there was a plot to kill him, and at one point asked the Jewish leaders, "Why go ye about to kill me?" Their answer is quite interesting, "Thou hast a devil; Who goeth about to kill you? Now these days, in the U.S.A., we wouldn't say it that way. We would say, "You're paranoid, who's trying to kill you?" So then, in some ways, people 2,000 years ago were smarter than people today. There is a branch of medical science where diagnoses are made such as paranoid, schizophrenic, obsessive-compulsive, bipolar disorder, and many similar afflictions. But those professionals who make such diagnoses these days are generally not aware that the root of the problem is demons. In fact, in their studies to obtain the credentials that they have, the main textbook on such matters was ignored, to wit, the Holy Bible. Personally, I prefer the King James Version. Demons, of course, are fallen angels. The prince of the demons is Satan. Someone might say, "Well, you've been reading too much mythology." No, I don't read mythology. Mythology is garbage. I read God's word, the Holy Bible, and God can't lie. Satan was present in the Garden of Eden, and tempted Eve to commit the first sin by eating the fruit God said don't eat. God said "Don't eat that. If you eat it, you'll die." They ate and they died. Satan told Eve, "Naw, you won't die." But that was a lie. Satan is a liar and the father of lying, Jesus said. So then, why would God create evil angels? He didn't. When God created the angels, they were all good angels. But God gave the angels an attribute that he also gave us--the power of choice. Satan was originally Lucifer, Son of the Morning. But he was corrupted by reason of his brightness. Satan said, "I will be like God." He wanted to be worshipped. When Satan rebelled against God, some of the angels followed him. Those, together with Satan, are the demons, all of which will wind up in hell and the lake of fire. There is no pill you can take, sir, to get rid of the demon causing your speech impediment. Demons just don't go out because you take a pill. No, the demons go if and only if some- one with proper authority casts them out--that is, a Christian. Unfortunately, not all Christians have been taught about casting out demons. One preacher who casts out demons is Dr. Norvel Hayes. I believe his headquarters is still Cleveland, TN. Happened to see him recently on Direct TV, on the GTV channel. Seems like it was channel 365. Dr. Lester Sumrall wrote an excellent book, "Demons, the Answer Book." Sumrall founded LeSEA, the Lester Sumrall Evangelistic Assn, out of So. Bend, IN. I think there is now a LeSEA Broadcasting. Norvel Hayes was a student of Lester Sumrall. Norvel Hayes is on the internet. You can Google him. Seems like it's www.nhm.cc. It might also be NorvelHayes.com. But demons are not something to deal with carelessly. Jesus said, "When the evil spirit has gone out of a man, he (the evil spirit), walks through dry places, seeking rest, and finding none. Then he says, I will return to my house that I came out of (the human being that the demon had been in). And he takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself and they enter in and live there, and the last condition of that man is worse than the first." So, don't mess around with this at all, sir, unless you're going to get yourself straight with God and become a Christian yourself. You need this anyway so you can avoid hell and go to heaven. "What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" says Jesus. You lose your soul if you go to hell. I pray that you will make the right decision. Sincerely, Fred Hoehn, P.O.Box 2215, El Paso, TX 79951
