GovCA 03/28/15 Dear Governor: This is about the water shortage. I'm a native Californian, born in Los Angeles. Back in the 60's I served in the Navy. Now that I'm retired, I've been writing. I have books at Barnesandnoble.com One of my titles is "Ladder Logic & Programmable Controllers." On U.S. Navy ships, water is somewhat precious. Of couse, you can top off your water tanks before leaving port. But if the ship is out to sea for two weeks, those fresh water tanks are likely to run out before you get back to port. The ship does distill fresh water. But for flushing the toilets, they use sea water. In some of the California coastal towns, you could save fresh water by flushing the toilets with salt water. They have plastic pipes now that should be adequate, such as PVC plastic. You could try it in one of the smaller towns, and check the resulting saved fresh water, and then expand to other coastal California towns. Seems like I've seen on TV that some of the California farmers can't plant as many crops because of the water shortage. Respectfully, Frederick Hoehn P.O.Box 153 Omaha, NE 68101
